Nia’s impact transcends fashion, dance, advocacy, and community. With her journey serving as a testament to how personal experiences can spur movements that drive meaningful change, Nia shares insights on inclusivity in fashion and the arts, the essence of representation, and the power of young voices in shaping the narrative. Nia is an advocate, entrepreneur, fashion designer, speaker, and the co-creator of Révolutionnaire.

Her artistic and entrepreneurial journey is anchored in a lifelong endeavor to bring inclusivity to the forefront of the arts and fashion, particularly in the dancewear realm. Fuelled by personal experiences and the desire to make a difference, Nia, alongside Justice, expanded Révolutionnaire from Canada’s leading inclusive dancewear brand to a broader platform that empowers individuals to drive change through content, commerce, and community.

Nia is based in Toronto, Ontario and available globally for speaking engagements and collaboration opportunities. 

Nia's Journey

Recognition:

  • Forbes 30 Under 30, 2024 
  • Top 25 Women of Influence in Canada, 2022
  • Women of the Year, Bay Street Bull, 2022
  • 30X30 Honouree, Glory Professional, 2023

Révolutionnaire’s Origin:

  • Created Révolutionnaire to challenge the status quo in skin-toned dance apparel and accessories
  • Launched Canada’s first dancewear brand catering to dancers of color as a freshman in university
  • Built Révolutionnaire into a movement to equip young people with the resources they need to make a difference in their communities and beyond

Dance Journey :

  • Embarked on a professional dance training journey at age 12 with the Joffrey Ballet School in Los Angeles and the Joffrey Ballet Trainee Program in New York
  • Volunteered in dance classes for children aged 4-8 across Toronto, New York, and Washington
  • Choreographed and staged three contemporary ballets focused on diversity in dance and challenging abuse in the entertainment industry
  • Provided advocacy resources for young people to speak out about abuse in dance

Education:

  • BFA Graduate from Howard University Chadwick A. Boseman College of Fine Arts, 2023
